Note that bug fixes are cumulative, that is, bug fixes in previous update versions are included in subsequent update versions. With millions of developers running more than 51 billion Java Virtual Machines worldwide, Java continues to be the development platform of choice for enterprises and developers. These downloads can be used for development, personal use, or to run Oracle licensed products.

Installation of the JDK on Microsoft Windows Platforms

For installation troubleshooting help please refer to the NetBeans IDE Installation FAQ. NetBeans IDE is documented in the software’s help system, however, additional documentation about developing with NetBeans IDE is available at the NetBeans Documentation, Training & Support page. Java 8 Enterprise Performance Pack is licensed under the
Oracle Technology Network
License Agreement for Oracle Java SE. Commercial license and support are available for a low cost with
Java SE Universal Subscription. For current Java releases, please consult the Oracle Software Download page.

This latest release improves the performance, stability, and security of Java application development. GraalVM for JDK 17 binaries are free to use in production and free to redistribute, at no cost, under the
GraalVM Free Terms and
Conditions (GFTC). GraalVM for JDK 21 binaries are free to use in production and free to redistribute, at https://remotemode.net/ no cost, under the
GraalVM Free Terms and
Conditions (GFTC). JDK 17 binaries are free to use in production and free to redistribute, at no cost, under the Oracle No-Fee Terms and Conditions (NFTC). JDK 21 binaries are free to use in production and free to redistribute, at no cost, under the Oracle No-Fee Terms and Conditions (NFTC).

Java Platform Standard Edition 7 Documentation

The installer places the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) software in %Program Files%\Java\jre7, regardless of the specified JDK install location. Also available for development, personal use, and to run other licensed Oracle products. The URLs listed above will remain the same for update releases to allow their use in scripts. Native Image is extensively tested and supported for use in production, but is not a conformant implementation of the Java Platform. GraalVM for JDK 17 without the Native Image feature included is available for customers at My Oracle Support. GraalVM for JDK 21 without the Native Image feature included is available for customers at My Oracle Support. For more information about this command, see the GlassFish Server Open Source Edition 4.0 Reference Manual in the product documentation ZIP file. The Software Bundle can be installed only on OS X v10.7.3 (Lion) or newer. To install the software, you must have administrator privileges on your system.

Hands-on Learning Path

Please review the terms carefully before downloading and using this product. Only developers and Enterprise administrators should download these releases. These Java SE 8 update releases are provided under the Binary Code License (“BCL”). For production use Oracle recommends downloading the latest JDK version. Learn how to enable Spring Boot applications to run as GraalVM native images in your enterprise Java Application. You can install the JDK software and NetBeans IDE in directories of your choice.

Subsequent JDK 21 updates will be licensed under the Java SE OTN License (OTN) and production use beyond the limited free grants of the OTN license will require a fee. These binaries are provided primarily for use by implementors of
the Java SE 7 Platform Specification and are recommended for
reference purposes only. The Reference Implementations have been
approved by the JCP and will receive no further updates, not even
for security issues. Binaries for development and production use
will be available from
Oracle and in most popular Linux distributions. GraalVM for JDK 17 will receive updates under the GFTC, until September 2024.

Use for other
purposes, including production or commercial use, requires a Java SE Universal Subscription or another Oracle license. The source code of the RI binaries is available under the
GPLv2 in a single
zip file (md5)
100 MB. The official Reference Implementations for Java SE 7
(JSR 336) are
based solely upon open-source code available from the JDK 7 Project in java 7 certifications the
OpenJDK Community. Binaries are
provided for both the linux-x64 and windows-i386 platforms. For production use Oracle recommends downloading the latest JDK and JRE versions and allowing auto-update. Due to limited intellectual property protection and enforcement
in certain countries, the JDK source code may only be distributed
to an authorized list of countries.
